Students will create their own story based on places on the map that they would like to travel. They will include coordinates from at least five different places and tell which hemisphere they are in. When each group member has completed their story, they should be directed to share with the rest of the group.

Visual/Spatial
Students will sketch the world map on the sheet provided. They will label the continents, color them green, and label one city in each continent with its coordinates. Students may use computers or iPads for this assignment. Students will present their sketches to the class explaining why they chose the cities that they did.

Bodily/Kinesthetic
Students will create a dialogue of places around the world they want to travel. They will include the climate of the area, as well as what continent it is located on. Students may extend their conversation to talk about what they will do for fun once they get there. Optional: Students will present scripts to the class.

Musical/Rhythmic
Students will watch the video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjDqhLUzCpE, and then answer the questions provided on the worksheet. This video can be shown on the Smart Board for the entire class to see or students can watch it individually in the computer lab.

Interpersonal
Students will be directed to work on computers, in pairs, to create crossword puzzles. Students can use this crossword puzzle maker link, http://worksheets.theteacherscorner.net/make-your-own/crossword/, in order to construct their puzzles. Each pair will print off two puzzles, these puzzles will be give to the teacher and then distributed around the class for all students to try. Examples of key words students can use, but are not limited to, include: latitude, longitude, hemisphere, compass rose, continent, etc.

Intrapersonal
Students will begin a goal-setting journal. This journal will help them accomplish what they want to throughout each unit as well as the year as a whole. At the beginning of the year students will write a journal about what they would like to have accomplished by the end of the year; this journal will be handed back to them on the last day of school. Throughout each unit students will write about what they want to have accomplished by the end of the unit. This is a good way for students to set there sights on a goal and try to achieve it!
